Hue will become a festival city and a hub for national and international tourism, according to a recent decision by the Prime Minister.
The decision also said the festival city will help boost the entire Thua Thien-Hue province’s socio-economic development.
Announcing the decision on March 3, Secretary of the city’s Party Committee and the People’s Council Chairman Nguyen Kim Dung said Hue will continue preserving and promoting its heritage, including the ancient citadel and nha nhac (Royal Court Music).
Thua Thien-Hue province hosts the biennial Hue festival which features international and national art and performances, drawing crowds from all over the region and the world.
Hue city says it will focus on developing tourism services and urban infrastructure, contributing to its integration and sustainable development.
