A clutch of cultural and sports events will mark the sixth “Viet Nam – Japan Cultural Exchange Days” to be held in Hoi an this week to mark the 35th anniversary of bilateral ties.
The Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange festival will be held in Hoi an ancient town, central Quang Nam province, on August 15 and 16.
Vietnam is now known as an attractive and safe destination in the region and is considered to have great potential for more development. However, the sector’s activities is still inefficient. This is due to the lack of professional marketing and advertisement.
Vietnam plans to spend VND16 billion (US$970,000) advertising the image of its tourism on international news networks in the rest of the year, said an official.
The shop signs on display in the streets of Hoi an represent a link between the present and the prosperous past of this old port town.

Vietnam will host the largest international festival of gongs in Pleiku city , the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai in March next year according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
